When i look at lots of the sigs in the show off section, lots of the big named people have really nice backgrounds that look amazing, and every time I try to put a background from a stock behind a render it never matches or looks good. Like for example just because I just looked at it, Mistfit's most recent sig with the turtle thing, how the background looks really nice.

Does anyone ave hints or tips to get good backgrounds?
Thanks

its matter of finding what you know will fit the render taking time matching it up and then taking your time to manipulate it so its perfect. then its matter of finding the right effects to blend the render in with the bg. You will probably find that most of em render there own Images too or have people close who can do a good rendering job the way they want it so that way if they see a piece they can just get straight into it

Well it depends on the focal...

if its a car, try to find a race track or on the street...or a garage..
if its a knight, try to find a castle, or courtyard..
if its a monk or anything with a hood, find a church or cathedral..
if it's a soccer player, try to find a basketball court, lol j/k

you get the idea, just imagine where that render is and what is it doing?

So, who's the Big Named people? lol

Alright thanks, and big named people, you know the mods, the classing team etc. I was just saying it so you gathered what sigs i was talking about.

And soccer on a basketball court? I think you mean in an acting studio

trust me almost everything looks good on anything if u work hard and blend it nice (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
it's not just cutting feathering removing
you gotta work on the lighting (like from which way it's from and the shadows!) well most important part would be lighting
then coloring of course it's look dumb if you put hitman on rainbow colored bg right?
and other little details, almost every little thing matters. like if it has reflective material then make a reflection etc.

and i'd like to encourage you to think outside from the box like putting fish in space or idk it's ur choice u'll get the idea (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) not what we see or not what we can't think put it like that way and work hard on it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

(Btw sorry for my english it's not my motherlanguage & i didn't sleep about 23~ hours so there's high chance that i wrote something not so clear (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) )

Personally i find using non rendered images are great if it has a good background with it. I like to enhance what the original artist already made. Seems however nowdays most people just put renders on rather chaotic/confusing backgrounds imo.
